Assignment #13 -- final assignment

This assignment is worth 185 points. Submit it as a Google Doc shared to bboydston@piu.edu.

You have three options for this final assignment. Please do ONLY ONE.

1.) Write a 2,100 - 3,000 word persuasive paper on a topic of your own choosing. It should have a standard academic cover sheet, along with citations, and a works cited list at the end. As you craft this paper you not only need to persuade me of the topic but your rhetorical style and content should also persuade me that you have digested the content of the course.

2) Rework a persuasive paper of at least 2,100 words that you wrote for another class. I want you to substantially strengthen the paper by removing any logical fallacies. Then use some of the tools to which you were introduced in “They Say / I Say”: the Moves that Matter in Academic Writing by Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein to further strengthen your paper. This must be a major rewrite. If your previous paper was already good don't waste your time with this option. I want to see how you use the information presented in this course to make major improvements. You must include the previous paper as it was originally submitted. (Make sure that it is separate from your re-write.) Explain what the original assignment was, to whom you submitted it, and what grade you received.

3) Create a series of lesson plans for teaching the content of this entire course on a level appropriate to 8th graders. Your lesson plans must include objectives, standards, timelines, stages, and learning activities. Make sure that you address a number of learning styles.

Reach out with an URGENT email if you have any questions.
